A little teaser of things to come...

Well, it's been a rather busy couple of weeks here in the Ironworks.  After much thought and consideration, I've changed tactics a bit.  The Captains Manual is still in the works, as are the second Quick Decks pack.  At the moment, I'm working on the first of a line of Technical Manuals focused on small craft in order to ease into things.  More on these will follow in the days ahead, but I thought I'd put up a teaser pic that didn't make the cut into the TM.

This is an interior cutaway view of a Reprieve-class Escape Pod, a fairly representative member of the .5 dton escape pods.  The Technical Manual will include full specs, interior and exterior renders, deck plans, adventure hooks, and a few more goodies to aid players and referees.  Look for the first one soon!

The first week.

This first week has certainly been a rollercoaster here at the Ironworks, but it seems like we're getting a warm reception from the Traveller community.  I happened to glance at DriveThruRPGs Top 100 Small Press items, and was pleasantly surprised to discover Quick Decks 1: Starter Pack sitting at number 28.   I thought it would do well, but this is more than I expected.  To the community as a whole, thank you!

If you've used Quick Decks, I'd love to see some pictures of it in action - you can send them to dslironworks@gmail.com.  Ideas, comments, suggestions, criticisms - send them all to us, we'd love to hear them.

Pardon the mess, we're still moving in...

Greetings, and welcome to DSL Ironworks.  We're a small publishing company in South Dakota, dedicated to publishing supplements for the Traveller role-playing game.  Today marks the the birth of this grand adventure, and I'm hoping that all of you will come along for the ride.

So, what exactly is that we do?  Starships, primarily.  Traveller players and referees love starships and deckplans.  Our first product caters to that love in the form of Quick Decks 1: Starter Package.  At it's most simplistic, these are a set of 25 mm scaled modular deckplans designed to be printed, cut out, and arranged to your needs, allowing a busy referee to have access to battle maps on fairly short notice.  Over the next couple of days, we'll be discussing this product line and sharing some ideas about how best to use them in your game.  You can find Quick Decks products on DriveThruRPG.com

Currently, there are two product lines in production.  The first is the Quick Decks series of modular deckplans, as noted above.

The second line is known as the Captains' Manual series.  Each of these books will focus on a specific, new ship class, its variants, sub-craft, and specialized systems.   They will include a wealth of background history, design notes, deck plans, 3d renders of both the interior and exterior, adventure hooks, campaign ideas, and more.   The first of these is currently in production.
